A systematic examination of the major theoretical issues and the logic and methods of the scientific study of developmental psychology. The course is organized around theoretical perspectives that have directed the study of developmental processes. In the laboratory component, students will engage in demonstration exercises designed to illustrate selected topics and research techniques. Students will be required to design and implement a research project. Lecture/discussion, three hours per week; laboratory, two hours per week. This course is a Graduation Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR) course in certain programs, and hence is not likely to be eligible for automatic transfer credit to UK. Prereq: Declared major in Psychology, PSY 195, PSY 215, 216, and 223.
