Elana Gloger
Health Psychology PhD Candidate
NIH F31 Fellow

I am a NIH F31 fellow and Ph.D. Candidate in Social/Health Psychology at the University of Kentucky in Dr. Suzanne Segerstrom’s Psychoneuroimmunology lab, which aims to investigate the influence of individual differences in personality, cognition, and emotion on psychological health and physiological functions. I am also mentored by Dr. Kate Leger. I am passionate about biological and psychosocial mechanisms of aging in midlife and investigating individual differences in healthy vs. poor aging throughout the lifespan. My current research focuses on longitudinal, mechanistic investigations of psychosocial, immunological, and cognitive processes through aging. Specifically, I am curious about why & how people age poorly and I aim to investigate these questions in midlife populations when risk factors may still be modifiable. I also have interests in biostatistics and biological measurement and recently completed a Certificate in Biostatistics (2022) in pursuit of these passions. I completed a Certificate in Biostatistics in 2022 and also have interests in biological measurement and statistics. When I’m not doing research, I’m podcasting about grad school (Dear Grad Student) crocheting, running, & playing with my cats.
