Bardo Receives SEC Faculty Achievement Award

Each award winner will become his or her university’s nominee for the 2015 SEC Professor of the Year Award and will receive a $5,000 honorarium from the SEC. The SEC Professor of the Year, to be named later this month, receives an additional $15,000 honorarium and will be recognized at the SEC Awards Dinner in May and the SEC Symposium in September.

UK Center for Drug Abuse Research Translation Receives NIH Grant

The University of Kentucky Center for Drug Abuse Research Translation (CDART) has received a $7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), funding which will continue the center's long history of developing novel intervention strategies that target high-risk individuals.

Drug Use and Adolescents: Michael Bardo

Michael Bardo, a professor in the Department of Psychology and the director of CDART (the Center for Drug Abuse Research Translation), is dedicated to finding out the biological phenomena that underlie behaviors associated with drug abuse and to finding ways to make that research useful to programs that develop and provide prevention services. Bardo discusses his findings and ideas for how to enhance drug abuse education in the future.
