Hi! My name is Katie and I am a first-year student in the clinical psychology doctoral program. I am a graduate research assistant within Dr. Ian Boggero's lab that has the focus to understand psychological factors that influence chronic orofacial pain (COFP). The current study in the lab is exploring brief psychological treatment interventions for managing COFP.
My specific research interests focus on COFP, particularly migraines and other severe headache experiences, and how traumatic experiences—such as developmental trauma or sexual assault—may influence not only migraine onset but also patients’ perceptions of trauma-related triggers, coping strategies, treatment response, and experiences across care settings. I am also interested in exploring psychological approaches that support and empower patients in managing migraines and enhancing overall quality of life.
A little more about me:
As a first generation college student, I am extremely passionate about mentoring undergraduate students who are interested in continuing forward in their studies on a graduate level. If you have general questions or would like some simple guidance, feel free to email me.
Other than that, I love all things music, thrifting, coffee shops, and fashion. If I'm not at school drinking an iced coffee, you will more than likely see me out and about thrifting cute pieces or shuffling through vinyls with 7brew in my hand.
