Taylor Bettis
Graduate Student

As a second-year graduate student in the Developmental, Social, and Health Psychology program working under Dr. Jennifer Hunt, I investigate how psychological factors influence legal outcomes, with a particular focus on structural inequalities and grand jury dynamics.

My current research focuses on understanding how individual differences shape attitudes and perceptions of laws and policies related to discrimination. I also examine extralegal factors contributing to disparate outcomes based on racial and gender identities. Additionally, I explore societal views surrounding the criminalization of pregnancy and reproductive healthcare. My current work includes investigating grand jury proceedings, with an emphasis on how race and power dynamics influence juror perceptions and decision-making.
