Welcome! Thank you for your interest in applying to the UK Developmental, Social, and Health (DSH) Doctoral (PhD) Program in Psychology. This program includes faculty members who study human behavior from developmental (social and cognitive), social, and health psychological perspectives.
In the section below, we have included some tips for completing your application.
Faculty Reviewing Applications for 2025 Admission
The DSH area faculty who are considering students for their research lab will review your application. If you think you are a great fit for the UK Developmental, Social, and Health (DSH) Doctoral (PhD) Program in Psychology, but the faculty member with whom you would like to do research is not accepting students, then we encourage you to consider applying next year (or consider whether you might list another prospective faculty advisor in our program, if they also could represent a strong fit for you). Decisions about admission are partly based on "fit" between applicants and faculty mentors, so please consider this in your own application materials.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to identify a potential faculty mentor (or mentors) as part of the application process, and should describe the "fit" between their research interests and those of the potential mentor(s) in the personal statement of the application. Co-mentorship between two faculty advisors is also a possibility in our program (note: primary advisorship is generally reserved for "core" faculty).
The faculty listed below will consider adding a student to their research lab for the 2025-2026 academic year:
- Dr. Jessica Bray
- Dr. Rachel Farr
- Dr. Peggy Keller
- Dr. Christopher Marshburn
- Dr. Pooja Sidney
- Dr. Kate Leger
- Dr. Melody Altschuler
When completing your online application (log in here), list potential mentors under the "Psychology" section of the application (see below).
